Engineering / Open role 01

Platform
Engineer

Build the technical spine that lets an AI system observe, decide, act, and learn from real leasing outcomes.

The opportunity

Own the layer where intelligence becomes reliable action.

Leaser helps multifamily asset owners turn exposed inventory into profitable revenue. That requires more than a model or a dashboard. It requires a durable platform that can unify operating signals, recommend an intervention, execute it safely, and return the outcome to memory.

As a Platform Engineer, you’ll work across backend services, data systems, integrations, workflows, infrastructure, and AI boundaries. This is not a narrow DevOps or SRE role. You’ll own consequential product infrastructure from first design through production behavior.

What you’ll build

  • A canonical operating stateConnect property, inventory, prospect, channel, campaign, and lease data at the grain where the system can act.
  • Durable decision workflowsDesign idempotent, observable workflows that survive partial failure and preserve a complete decision receipt.
  • Governed action pathsEncode approvals, authority, reversibility, audit history, and policy controls into how actions execute.
  • Outcome and attribution infrastructureMake it possible to trace a recommendation to an action, a signed lease, and the economics that followed.
  • AI platform primitivesBuild safe interfaces for model calls, evaluations, confidence, fallbacks, and the evidence returned to future decisions.
  • A fast, dependable developer systemRaise the quality of local development, testing, observability, deployment, and production response.
What makes this different
Most platforms stop when the workflow runs. Ours must know whether the decision worked.

What you bring

  • Strong production experience with backend or platform systems and clear ownership of their reliability.
  • Fluency in APIs, data modeling, integrations, event-driven systems, and distributed-system tradeoffs.
  • Comfort moving between application code, databases, cloud infrastructure, and operational debugging.
  • A security and privacy mindset appropriate for multi-tenant enterprise software.
  • The judgment to keep early-stage systems simple without making tomorrow’s correctness impossible.
  • Clear communication with product and business leaders about risks, decisions, and measurable outcomes.

Experience in proptech, adtech, experimentation, workflow engines, or applied AI is useful—but curiosity, systems thinking, and evidence of shipping hard things matter more.

The working stack

The stack is a tool, not a checklist. We care most about your ability to reason about the whole system.

How you’ll know it’s working

  1. 90 days

You understand the decision loop, have shipped production improvements, and can independently trace a signal through action and outcome.

  2. 6 months

Core workflows are more observable, resilient, and governed—and the team moves faster because of the platform you own.

  3. 12 months

Leaser can extend autonomy with confidence because every important action produces a trustworthy, measurable receipt.

Leaser AI is an equal opportunity employer. We value different backgrounds, perspectives, and paths into engineering, and we evaluate candidates on the work they can do and the judgment they bring.
